Oops, I did it again…

I am pleased to announce that, for the second time, I am a Quarter Finalist in ScriptapaloozaTV’s screenwriting competition. This international competition had over 850 entries this year.

My script this time is a spec. for one of TV’s best and hottest comedies, Modern Family. My script is entitled “The Way of Jay” and involves among other things: Mexican masked wrestling; traditional Scottish dress; manicures; and sock monkeys. Trust me, it all comes together.

BOLDPRINT Graphic Novels Win Second Award

I wrote 3 books for this series and am most pleased that it has been recognized again by way of its second award – the 2011 Learning Magazine Teacher’s Choice for Children’s Books Award.

“The Teachers’ Choice Awards honor products of exceptional quality and outstanding performance in the classroom and at home! Our panel of teacher evaluators use each product in their classrooms and homes to find the best products for teachers and parents.”

Boldprint Graphic Novels Win Textys Award

I am pleased to announce that my Graphic Novels, Trapped!, Into The Deep and That’s Funny are part of an award winning series of Graphic Novels for kids. Please see below for details on the award.

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like I get any cash prize so make sure you buy/recommend these now award winning books to your schools, teachers and librarians.

Textbook Excellence Awards

Text and Academic Authors created the Textbook Excellence Award in 1992 to recognize current textbooks and learning materials. To be nominated, a work must carry a copyright date for the previous or current year. TAA designed the award, called the Texty, because text materials did not have awards of their own. Entries are not limited to books but may include learning materials in all mediums.
